1927 N.Z. TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS AT CHRISTCHURCH.

NEW SEAMLESS BALL ADOPTED. The New Zealand tennis championships for 1927 will be played at Christchurch. according to an official notice received to-day from the New Zealand Association, by Mr R. Browning, secretary of the Canterbury Association. A meeting of the Wilding Park match committee will be held to-morrow morning to go into details in regard to the championships. The first day’s play will commence on December 28. The Ayres “C.S.” ball has been adopted officially for the championships. This fs a ball that has hardly been used in Christchurch so far, but it appears that the authorities at Home have decided that at no future championships will a stitched ball be used. The “C.S.” is a stitchless, cement-seam ball.
