A £15,000 organ that, but for secret sound-deadening devices, could be heard all the way from Piccadilly Circus to the Law Courts, has been installed at the Plaza Kinema, London. This organ claims to rank with the great cathedral organs and also plays a concealed piano and all the instruments of A symphony orchestra, as well as barking like a dog, mewing like a cat, and imitating the shaking of a cocktail. Major Haines acknowledges additional donations to the Salvation Army Blanket and Unemployment Fund: Canon Bean £l, Mrs Webb £l, Mrs Slater £1 2s 6d; Y.K.B. 10s, the Victoria League £5, Mrs Crooke £2, Mrs Mears £2 2s; total £l2 14s 6d. Major Haines also thanks many friends who have contributed men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, also blankets, bread and cakes.
