POSED AS DETECTIVE, IT IS ALLEGED
(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND. June 20 That not being a member of the New Zealand Police Force he did assume the designation of a detective, was the charge against Alexander Mulholland, aged thirty-two. lie was remanded on bail. The sub-inspector stated that accuced spoke to several men in a hotel on Saturday, stating that he was a detertive. Two surprised young fellows said they had done nothing wrong, but one gave his name which was actually noted by Mulhoi land.
