That within ten years, light aeroplanes will be as popular in New Zealand as motor-cars was the view advanced by Captain J. L. Findlay, officer commanding the Wigram Aerodrome, when speaking at the monthly mess dinner of the officers of the Fourth Cadet Battalion, Canterbury Regiment, on Saturday evening. Captain Findlay dealt with many aspects of aviation, both military and civil. He also gave a brief outline of the means of controlling an aeroplane. Lieutenant F. L. Simson was president, and there was a large attendance of members. The guests included Lieutenant-Colonel N. W. B. B. Thoms, Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. M’Credie and Major R. A. Row.
