Captain Lindbergh flew “solo” from Washington on Monday morning and landed at Mitchell Fields, where he hopped off for Paris. He transferred to a seaplane and was taken down the harbour, where he boarded a civic tug. He was brought to the cit\*, where he received a welcome unparalleled in the histor>' of the cit} r . lie was then taken by motor-car through the financial districts, where the streets were jammed with shouting thousands. He received an official reception at the City Hall.
