SOME COLLECTIONS AND REFLECTIONS. (By One of the Boys.) The hero of the play was hit with an egg and hurriedly left the stage for the dressing-room. While on the way he met the manager, who asked, “Why the hurry?” “I’ve just been hit by a cowardly egg.” “What do you mean by a ‘cowardly egg’?” “One that hits and then runs.” :: :: Marconi gave his wife a portable wireless set. But, speaking as a married man for a large number of years. I can fay that it will be Marconi that is going to do the listening. k « Sydenham tradesmen have been defrauded by bogus cheques signed “Owen Moore.” The writer of the cheques must now be Owen Moore than he can pay. He couldn't see no points in chasing ares that always got out at the escapes, so ’e gets shrewd. When they slips ’im 'e leaves the other dawg to do the chasing and scoots direct for the escape. Then ’e waits outside and nips the ’are when ’e comes out. ’Course ’e got disqualified, so what does ’e do next time? 'E’s up against a simple sort of dawg from the country, so ’e kids ’im to do what ’e did, and go for the -escape. So the other dawg tears orf and Bingo chases the ’are. Then the other pore dawg finds that Bingo ’as gone round before the meeting and blocked up the escape, so while ’e and the 'are are looking for it Bingo kills the ’are. But Birgo’s shrewdness put the wind up me, so I persuades ’im to go straight, and ’e gets that conscientious that he trains down too thin. 'E got that thin that one day ’e snapped at a fly on ’is back and bit ’imself in ’arf.
