(Special to the “Star.”) LONDON, March 22. “Astonishir,g,” “Stupendous." were the terms used by Sir Josiah Stamp to describe America's income, in a speech yesterday to the American Chamber of Commerce in London. Points in his speech were : The total “current Income" or the United States was over 14,000,000,000 in 1926. It nearly equalled the capital wealth of the United Kingdom before the war. There had been a growth In five years in the income per head, of 7 per cent, per annum. America’s gold imports for January, amounting - to over 10,000,000 sterling - , were equal to more than a month's world production. It was to the interest of America that the prices of commodities sold all over the world should not fall too low a level.
