SOUTH AFRICAN GOVT. SEEKS AN AMICABLE AGREEMENT ON FLAG.

The Commission appointed by the Go vefnment, submitted its report, but. in the meantime the Flag Committee, an organisation representing the English speaking section, interviewed the Government, strongly urging that if the Union Jack were not m eluded the Bili should not be proceeded with.
The Minister of the Interior has now issued a statement that the Government was impressed by the importance of settling: the question, but strongly desired that it should be settled by consent if possible. It invited the cooperation of the Flag Committee with the Government Flag Commission in discussing the various designs.
