At the Stadium, Roy Moore, the American middle-weight, outed Ted Monson in the seventh round, when the fight was stopped owing to Monson sustaining a deep gash over an eye, requiring several stitches. The American throughout showed to better advantage. SAMUELS BEAT JACKSON. MELBOURNE, February 27. Samuels outed Bob Jackson in the fifth round. JAMITO DEFEATS JANSEN. Per Press Association. PALMERSTON X.. February 27. In what was considered the best fight over seen in the Dominion Jamito gained the decision over Jansen in a fifteen rounds contest on Saturday night. A feature of the contest was the manner in which Jamito took terrific right punches on the chin and still remained on his feet. Jansen scored with clean, direct punches, while Jamito's swinging punches with the inside of the glove were very frequent throughout each round. Good judges expressed surprise at the referee’s decision in view of the Frenchman’s far , leaner work. The last round was an cpie and it is doubtful if a round like it ever was seen before anywhere.
