She is timed to sail this evening with passengers and cargo for Nelson direct. Cygnet is to be despatched to-night with general cargo for Kaikoura and Wellington. Progress arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Timaru. She sails this' afternoon with cargo for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato. Storm should sail early this afternoon for Dunedin and Timaru. Karori is due at Lyttelton to-day from ’N^tpier with sheep. Whangape arrived last evening from Gisborne with sheep. She will coal this morning and then sail for Westport. Holmdale is expected at Lvttelton on Wednesday from .Timaru to load for Wellington and Wanganui. Kahika is timed to load at. Lvttelton on .Thursday for Na.pier and Gisborne. She sails via Wellington. Karetu is expected to sail to-day for Oama.ru, Dunedin, Bluff and Svdney. Cambridge is expected to ‘complete loading to-morrow, and is to sail for London, via Panama. Anglo-Columbian is due at Lvttelton on Wednesday from Timaru to load for English and Continental ports, to the agency of .Scales and Co. She is to sail on Thursday for Picton. Kennedy is expected at Lyttelton on Wednesday to load for Fox ton direct. The New Zealand Shipping Co.’s Hororata arrives at Wellington to-mor-row from London. She lands North Island passengers and mails at that port and sails the same day for Lyttelton, where she disembarks the remainder of her passengers and commences discharge. Mr E. Bilger, third officer on the Maori, has been transferred to the Aorapgi. IST r .T. Waiting, la.to of the Tamahine, is now third officer on the Maori. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 28. Arrived: Makura (6.20 a.m.) from SyclWIRELESS NOTICE. The following vessels are expected to be within range of the undermentioned wireless stations to-night:— Auckland—Tofua, Sakomam. Tahiti, Kaituna, KaikoraJ, Marama,J?ort Campbell. Wellington—-Maori, Wahine, Ngaio, Arahura, Tamahine. Surprise, Tutanekai, Manuka, Hororata, Tasmania, Otarama, Karori, Canadian Explorer, Cambridge. Awarua.—Sir J. C. Ross, N. T. Nilson Alonso, C. A. Larsen, Moeraki, Karetu, Kiwi tea. Chatham Islands—Port\Napier, Tamaroa, Port Caroline, Tremeadow. When their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York are in Christchurch they will be given a civic reception at 8.30 p.m. on the Saturday on which they arrive, and arrangements have been made by Mr W. E. Leadley, secretary of the Reception Committee, to have, music from 7.30 until the arrival of the Royal party, as it is expected there will be a big crowd from the time of the opening of the door. The official Press staff on 11.M.5. Renown numbers only three, of whom two are Australians. Mr lan Lucas is the sole representative of the Press of Great Britain, and practically every daily newspaper of any standing looks to receive its news of the Royal tour from his pen, though some of the important city papers will have special representatives sending news from New Zealand and Australia. The other two pressmen are Mr William Tonkin, formerly of the staff of the Sydney “ Sun,” but now representing a group of Australian papers, and Mr Taylor Derbyshire, representing the Australian and New Zealand Press Association. Mr Derbyshire is very well known in Australia, where, at; one time, he was associated with J. C. Williamson, Ltd., being manager of the firm in Melbourne. Some three years ago he was appointed to represent the Australian Associated Press.in Fleet Street (London), where his intimate knowledge of Australian affairs and what Australia wished to know were of the greatest possible service.
