'.Special to the ** Star.’*) LONDON, February 6. According to “Reynolds News,” Sir James O’Grady will be offered a further term as Governor of Tasmania. Alternatively, he may be offered a post as Governor in another State. Sir James O’Grady, formerly a Labour member of the House of Commons for South-East Leeds, was appointed Governor of Tas-
mania in 1924. He is one of the most popular Governors Tasmania has j*et had. He has had a most varied career. He was a member of the Town Council of Bristol from 1897-99, and secretary of the National Federation of General Workers. Duirng the war he was with the
British, French. Russian and American troops in the various war theatres, and in 1919 was sent on a special mission by the British Government to Copenhagen to negotiate with Soviet representatives for the repatriation of British civilians held in Russia.
