J. E. Mills is one of the colts of the New Zealand cricket team which is to visit England. He is one of the mo s', promising young batsmen that this country has ever produced. He has not played for New Zealand before, but his admirers arc confident that by his performances at Home he will fully 3ustify

his inclusion. He batted well for Auckland in Plunket Shield games this season. scoring a total of 237 runs in six innings, an average of 39.50. Although young. Mills has already attained the honour of having his name mentioned in Wisdcn’s, his partnership of 441 runs with H. D. Gillespie for the first wicket for Eden against the Auckland University team in 1924-25 being included in the records of that annual.
