The City Brigade turned out at 2.13 p.m. to a small fire at 687, Colombo Street, premises occupied by Mr Plampen, ladies' hairdressing and toilet rooms. A special train conveyed the Fairfield Freezing Works employees from Ashburton to Timaru for their annual picnic.
