POLO TOURNEY TO BE PLAYED AT HAGLEY NEXT WEEK END.
A polo tournament for the Tabu and Orbell Cups will be played on Thursday, Friday and Saturday next, at Hagley Park. The Tahu Cup will be an American tournament for three chukkas of seven minutes. The handicaps are:—Christchurch A scr; Pareora 4 goals: Amuri 5 goals; Christchurch B 8 goals. Christchurch A meets Christchurch B at 10.30 a.m., Pareora meets Christchurch B at 11.15 a.m., Amuri meets Christchurch A at 12 noon, Pareora meets Amuri at 2.15 p.m., Pareora meets Christchurch A* at. 3 p.m., Amuri meets Christchurch B at. 4 p.m. On Friday the Orbell Cup tournament will be held, six. chukkas and a seven minutes’ knock-out. The handicaps are:—Christchurch A scr; Pareora 7 goals; Amuri 9 goals; Christchurch B 15 goals. The teams are: -Pareora, A. S. Elworthy, L. IT. Orbell, H. Orbell, and D. Orbell; Christchurch, Tahu Rhodes, D. Gould, R. M. D. Johnson and G. Grigg: Amuri, R. Gould, C. Macfarlane, L. Jamieson, and L. Macfarlane; Christchurch B, Johnston, C. Deans, de Crespigny, and Stewart. The draw is:—Pareora v. Christchurch B, 2 p.m.; Christchurch A v. Amuri at 3.30.
