The goods traffic through the Otira tunnel from west to east last week totalled 7609 tons, compared with 5936 tons the previous week. The coal industry on the West Coast is now back to normal after the holidays. The Department of Agriculture has drafted regulations for the administration of the Veterinary Surgeons' Act, passed last session, which provides lor the registration of veterinary surgeons. After the regulations have been gazetted, the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board will be constituted. A month's training in aviation will commence at the Wigram Aerodrome, Soekburn, for some ten flying men next Tuesday. The airmen will be under the command of Captain J. L. Findlay, M.C. The comprehensive schedule arranged will include dual control and solo flying, practice in wireless telegraphy, Lewis and Vickers gun instruction. and general lectures. Fourteen machines will be available.
