I nview of the success of the special train which was run from Christchurch to the Burnham military camp y esterda}', the Railway Department has decided to run another train next Sunda}' when the Christchurch cadets will be in camp. It is probable that trains will be run to Burnham every Sunday while the military camps are in progress. About 150 passengers travelled by yesterday’s train. An iris-pond is one of the improvements in the Public Gardens contemplated by Mr J. Young. It will be formed in the coming winter, in a natural hollow north of the bog-garden. Irises will bloom there next spring. The dahlias in the beds near the Christ’s .College sports ground are still a conspicuous feature of the Gardens, and the ribbon-borders between the Museum and Mr Young’s house are resplendent in blues, reds and yellows.
