CADETS RETURNING HOME WILL MARCH THROUGH SQUARE.
The officers and n.c.o.'s of the Christchurch Cadets, who have been undergoing a course of instruction a.t Bumham during the past "week, will march from the Christchurch railway station, to the King Edward Barracks on their return home to-morrow about 10.30 a.ni. The oute will be via Manchester Street, High Street, Colombo Street, Cathedral Square, to the ©arracks! The parade will be led by tvso bands, the brass band of the 4th Cadet Battalion, Canterbury Regiment, and the bugle band of the same unit both of which have been in camp. vThe parade will be under the command of Captain J. G. Greenwood. MjC., and with him will lie other officers of the 4th Cadet Battalion. The parade strength will total approximately 200. While these cadets are coming home another batch will be on their way to ■ Burnham. There will be about 250 of them, all from the secondary schools of Christchurch. They leave to-morrow by Mrain and will be at Burnham until January 31, undergoing a thorough course of instruction. After these cadets have returned territorial units will go into camp at Burnham. Artillery units go into camp, at Homebush. The work entailed in the pitching of the camp there has fallen to the lot of the tenth battery, who will send an advance party to the site on February 11. It will be» the duty of this body to pitch the fcents and marquees, install the cook-lfloaise, provide sanitary facilities, and generally place the camp in ship-shape order for the main body, arriving on. February 15. The advance party will be/comprised of those men from the Tei*fch Battery required to do four extra daiys in camp in lieu of evening parades. Training at. the camp commences on February 16. The Tenth will lie followed by the Ninth, on February 24. Those men of this battery doing the extra four days will go into camp two days before the main body and leave two days after if. The Sixteenth B*attery goes into camp on March 5, beginning training the next day. This unit will pro-
vide a rear party, which will strike camp on Alarch 15. The Southern Depot o fthe New Zealand Medical Corps, who were encamped at the Addington Racecourse, struck camp on Saturday after an enjovable and profitable week under canvas.
