The Government Statistician reports that the South Australian drink bill from 191415 to 1820-21 was nearly double thtf) for the previous corresponding period, due to a substantial increase in prices, while during the same period the quantity consumed per head of population and convictions for drunkeness per thousand of population decreased considerably. From 1920-21 to 1925-26 the value of liquor consumed per head increased only slightly, but there has been a steadv increase in convictions. For the year ended June, 1926, the drink bill was £5 7s lid per inhabitant, compared with £5 5s 2d in the previous year and £2 19s 2d in 1914-15.
