PRICES FIRM AT WOOL SALE.

BIDDING AT WELLINGTON SUGGESTS RISE LIKELY. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 13. The third of the series of wool sales to be held in Wellington commenced last evening, when three catalogues were submitted. There was a full bench of buyers and bidding was extremely keen and occasionally animated. It cannot be said that any one section of trade dominated the situation —everyone seemed to be anxipus to buy. Bradford and the Continent were keen operators. It was considered that the reserves were in some cases higher than warranted by market conditions, nevertheless it was a good sale. Early indications suggest an improvement in price, some experts placing it at a halfpenny and others at a farthing.
