CUP TO BE PRESENTED FOR BEST COLLECTION OF NATIVE FLORA.

(Special to the "Star.”) AUCKLAND, January 5 A silver cup has been presented by Mr G. Loder. president of the English Agricultural Society, for competition in New Zealand with a view to the protection of native flora. It is to be competed for in the four centres in annual rotation, commencing in Auckland at the next summer show during November. The cup will be awarded to the exhibitor of the best collection of native flora. A condition is that the cup cannot be held by the same competitor more than twice. It is now oil the way to New Zealand and will be administered through the Horticultural Division of the Agricultural Department. Among other trophies coming out from Home to the Auckland Horticultural Society, are three medals from the Royal Agricultural Society, for the best all round exhibits at the next spring, summer and autumn shows. From another source a cup is being forwarded for pansies, while the Royal Chrysanthemum Society is sending a medal for the best exhibit in 1928.
