During the past week 130 Wolf Cub Scouts, under District Cubmaster W. Desmond, have been in camp at Ilarewood, near the Waimakariri River. Another camp was held at Cass, where 120 scouts and 10 officers were under the command of Mr F. E. Hutchinson, assistant District Commissioner. The boys returned to town last night. Indications have not been lacking that there is as good swordfishing in Marlborough waters as in the Bay of Plenty and. Bay of Islands, for broken swords have frequently been found in the Sounds, and negotiations are afoot with the object of inducing Mr Zane Grey to try out the locality during his visit 1 o New Zealand (states ihe “ Express ”). In support of the claim that, swordfish abound off the Marlborough coast it is reported that a day or two ago a fine specimen was j washed ashore at Benmore, on the East Coast. It weighed 5001 b.
