MANY PUNCTURES.

Five cars stranded for tyre repairs were counted by a Ohristchtiroh mo torist between Christchurch and Kaiapoi yesterday morning, and by the time he reached Waiau he had counted nearly thirty. Asked whether he attributed this unusual number to the hot weather and over-inflation, he re plied in the negative, giving it as his opinion that the large number of old used cars going into service again were on the whole badly shod. Many of those new owners, he added, would be better advised to buy new tyres than spend money oil repairs.
