SPRINGSTON SOUTH HAS GALA AND SPORTS.
The annual gala was held at the \ Selwyn Huts on Saturday. The weather i was ideal and there was an attendance ( of over 3 000 people. This was the first | occasion on which the gala, committee > had held the cycling and running events under the rules of the Canter- ! bury centre of the New' Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. In the prinoi- : and interesting racing resulted. The j motor-boat racing was’ interesting, but over an hour was lost in the morning • getting the competitors to the mark, j A programme of sports was run off for the children. During the ; day Sir R.
