The Mistletoe Lodge No. 3, U.A.0.D., held their tenth children’s Christmas party in the Ridgely Hall, when over 400 children and parents were present. The first portion of the programme comprised orchestral items by K. and L. Lethabv; clog dance, Miss Dulcie Timms; and a ventriloquist item with two dolls by Mr Scarff. Father Christmas then made his entry and dispensed toys and special prizes from a wellladen tree, lit up with coloured lamps, after which supper and sweets were dispensed. During the evening ArdhDruid Brother p. F. M’Lay presented Mr and Mrs R. Sutherland, caretakers of the hall, with a leather travelling case, in recognition of their services rendered at various social functions of the lodge. The departure times from Christchurch of excursion and relief express and mail trains on January 1 and 3 are advertised in this issue.
