EFFORTS FAIL TO ENABLE GOVT. TO CARRY ON.

ELECTIONS MUST COME IN NEW SOUTH WALES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.——Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 20, .11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 26. Efforts to make arrangements which will enable the Government to carry on have failed. It is authoritatively stated that Messrs Giliies and Goodin have tendered to the secretary of the Labour Party their resignations as members of that party. Mr Loughlin has definitely stated that he will not go back on his word. There must be an appeal to the country within four months. Members of the Labour Party declared that they were preparing for an election as they did not want to be caught at the last moment. Most members on all sides have chosen the electorates they intend to contest under the single seats scheme.
