OFFER OF LAND FOR RECREATION GROUND AT RICCARTON COUNCIL.
The Rieearton Borough Council met last evening. Councillor TT. W. AVi.se taking the chair in the absence of the Mayor (Mr 11. S. S. Kyle). Councillors T. M. Ford. J. F. Peters. H Ma nil ire, A. E. Steere. H. Gudsell, A. Fisher and R. JI. Rankin also were present. The Finance Committee's report recommended that accounts amounting to £5889 4s should be passed for pavment The report was adopted. In connection with the proposal to form a recreation ground in the borough Mr John Deans wrote stating that the trustees of the Deans Estate had decided to reduce the cost -to £2OOO and were prepared to take payment for tinland in debentures bearing interest it not less than 6 per cent. Tiie letter was received and it was decided to hold the matter over for further consideration.
