NEW FACILITIES FOR TRAVELUNG. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 22. After making a thorough investigation of the traffic conditions of the northern routes in the South Island, the Department has decided on a six months’ trial of a combined rail and motor service connecting Nelson and Blenheim with Christchurch, via the east coast. Similarly a train and motor are to co-operate for the convenience of travellers between Nelson and Greymouth. Through connections will also be po|sible with the North Island, via the ferry steamers from Wellington to Picton and from Wellington to Nelson respectively. These new facilities will commence in December.
