The cable steamer Faraday expects to complete the Fiji-Fanning Island duplication cabl to-day if the weather is favourable. The Railway Department advertises cheap fares and a special passenger train to Little River on Tuesday next in connection wfth the Banks Peninsula Agricultural and Pastoral Show. Music lovers will be greatly interested in the concert to be given by Madame Gower-Burns's students on Saturday, November 27, at 7.45 p.m.. in the Choral Hall. The first part of the programme will be devoted to part songs and solos. One of the leading features of the concert will be the medley of old English songs, entitled “The Lilies of the Valley,” by Liza Lehmann, with soli and chorus which will be presented with appropriate cos tume and scenery.
