“IRENE,” STRIKING PICTURE, BEING SCREENED AT QUEEN’S.
STIRRING BOOTLEG STORY ALSO ON BILL. gowned than In " Irene,” the First National picture which is being screened at the Queen’s Theatre this week. Perhaps the most attractive, and certainly the most striking and ela borate sequence in this great picture is the cleverly conceived and executed fashion parade, in which a bevy of beautiful mannequins In four distinct acts depict, in their costuming and the backgrounds for their appearances, the four seasons of the year. Commencing with spring, the gowns run the gamut of vivid colourings and in some cases bizarre though attractive designs. Also on the programme is the thrilling Paramount picture, “Contraband,” a gripplng'drama of the Illicit liquor traffic in the United States. 1.,0is Wilson plays the leading role, and is well supported. There is a good programme of shorter features.
