STORY OF TRIALS AND PRIVATIONS AT EVERYBODY’S.
EPIC OF AUSTRIAN NATIONAL SPIRIT. A long and highly entertaining programme is provided for patrons of Everybody’s Theatre this week. “The Greater Glory” heads the bill, and stands out as one of the most powerful Aims of the year. Founded on Edith O’Shaughnessy’s “The Viennese Medley,” it brings to the silver sheet a marvellous tale of the struggles and privations of the Austrian people before, during and after the < treat War, which robbed that country of its greatness, and much of its false pride. Tt. is an intensely human story, with the heart of a nation throbbing in every length of it. The film brings many lessons that apply to individuals as well as nations, lessons that only the ruthlessness and desperation of war taught unthinking people. Outstanding in the cast are Anna Q. Nilsson and Conway Teavle, both of whom give masterly interpretations of their roles. *• Slaves of Fashion, ” the second feature, has a lighter touch. It is a comedy-drama of the craving of women for fine dresses, and where the craving landed Katherine Emson (Norma Shearer), after a chapter of incidents. Everybody's Select Orchestra, under the baton of Mr W. j. Bellingham, F.S.M., plays a special programme of music.
