MAORI YOUTH FACES TRIAL ON ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE.
Per Press Association. NAPIER, November 9. A Maori youth, Hori Ngatoio, who is not quite sixteen years of age, appeared at the Supreme Court to-day to answer charges arising out of the'shooting incident at Otane on September ft. The charges were:—(l) Attempting tv murder Edward Grace Watts, (2) wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, (3) discharging a firearm with intent to do grievous bodily harm, (4) breaking and entering the dwelling of Watts with intent to commit a crime. The hearing of evidence for the prosecution was not concluded when the Court adjourned until to-morrow. The facts disclosed were in accordance with the evidence given in the lower Court at Waipawa.
