GOING ON WELL. UNDER FREE LABOUR.
HAWKE’S BAY FREEZERS NEARING FULL CAPACITY. Per Press Association. NAPIER, November 9. The free labour now cm ploy'ed at the three Hawke’s Bay freezing works is reported in all cases to be doing exceptionally well. The men have set themselves eagerly to the task and are quickly reaching the utmost speed and skill. Extra free labour is to be taken on to-morrow morning, and the policy of “ brigading ” frequent batches cf new men to reinforce those who have already begun will be followed by the companies. By this means the position will soon be that the works will be approaching full capacity with gangs among which only a small fraction of the total will not be skilled
Free labour still continues to be unmolested in any way.
HIGHER WAGES ASKED BY WAITARA UNION.
Per Press Association. NEW PLY MOUTH, November 9. The Waitara Freezing Works Employees’ Union decided to support the Federation and Alliance of Labour in their effort to obtain increased rates of pay for workers in the industry.
