NEW USES FOR GLASS.
Crystal is nowadays so much in favour and is put to such novel uses that the glass department of some of the big stores seems a likely spot to hunt down that most elusive object, a really desirable gift. One of the joys of glass is, of course, the ease with which its surface is kept stainless and shining. Obviously, therefore, a set of glass knives for cutting oranges and lemons could not fail to meet with appreciation, while equally acceptable would be a blotter fitted with crystal corners and accompanied by glass paper-knife, stamp-box, and letterweight.
Flower-blocks with a hole for each separate bloom have long been an aid to table decoration in which the shallow bowl plays a part, but few' women arc familiar with the crystal bowl w'hich has its- own glass fitting for supporting flowers in a graceful position. The housewife interested in her table appointments will certainly be charmed with a set of cut-glass bowls for serving fruit salad, glass servers for lobster mayonnaise, glass straws for iced drinks, glass spoon for condiments and preserves, to say nothing of the glass toast-rack and cheese-dish.
