CUSTOMS REVENUE NEARS MILLION MARK.
AMOUNTS COLLECTED AT CHRISTCHURCH OFFICE The Customs revenue collected at Christchurch during the ten months of the present year is only about £26.000 short of a million pounds, and is £10,254 Is lid in excess of the amount collected during the corresponding period last year. The beer duty collected in the same period shows a decrease this year of £1417 6s 7d, compared with "last year. Th 6 meat export levy shows an increase of £lOl 17s 2d, and the butter and cheese export levy a decrease of £2BO 19s Id. The honey export levy came into operation at the beginning of May, and under this heading £l9 3s was collected in June. The month of October shows a decrease of £4393 16s 7d in the amount of Customs duty and a decrease of £457 13s 3d in the beer duty. Following are the detailed figures:— JANUARY-OCTOBER.
