ARRANGEMENTS MADE FOR TERRITORIAL AND CADET BOXING TOURNEY

Matters in connection with the coming boxing tournament to be held by the Garrison Sporta Association were discussed at a general meeting of delegates last evening. Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. M*Credio presided over a large attendance. The president reported that a boxing tournament would be held on November 19 and 20. The Executive Committee and the Boxing Committee had given the matter a great deal of consideration, and It had been decided to award a gold and silver medal to each of the ten classes. A silver cup would also be given to the unit gaining most points in the competition. Major S. W. Brooker gave particulars of the advertising that had been decided on. He said that the last boxing 'tournament had produced sixty competitors, and the indications were that this number would be exceeded at the coining tournament. , The rules controlling the boxing were submitted to the meeting from the Boxing Sub-Committee, and on the motion of Major 11- A. Row and Lieutenant F. Mitchell, they were adopted as part of the rules of the association. Lieutenant-Colonel N. W. Thoms, in i response to a question by the chairman, said that the military pageant and tattoo, which is to be held next March, would bo held on one Saturday afternoon and on five evenings. The programme had not yet been drawn up, but if the association was to make a definite proposition to the Pageant Committee, it was possible that arrangements could be made to run off some of the association’s athletic championships as curtain-raisers to the principal events of the tattoo. Matters of detail in connection with the boxing tournament were arranged at a subsequent meeting of the Executive Committee.
