'This man has been ringing the changes through the South Island." said Chief-Detective Gibson at the Magistrate's Court this morning, when A. lliur f ollins Lflrkin, aged twehtveight, pleaded guilty to a charge of being a rogue and vagabond in that he imposed upon people by fraudulent representation. The Chief-Detective said that accused lived by “change ringing.'' anti had five previous convictions. He had victimised three people in Christchurch. The Magistrate (Mr Young) sentenced accused to six imprison inent.
