DRAINAGE CONTRACTOR WILL REPAIR STREETS.

At the meeting of the City Council last night, a letter was received from Mr A. Moore, contractor, stating that' he had started to reinstate the streets damaged by him in connection with the laying of number twelve sewer, Woolston; also that, in view of the amount of correspondence in the daily papers in connection with the state of the roads, he would esteem it a favour if the council would inspect them while he was at work upon them, lie would be only too pleased to comply with any suggestions the council might make to assist in the betterment of the work. The matter was referred to the Works Committee.
