The purpose of the cush drive is to eliminate the harshness which accompanies the use of chain drive and to reduce wear on the back tyre. It also enables power from the engine to be “ picked up ” gradually. © THE NEW MECHANICAL OIL PUMP. The much improved B.S.A. mechanical oil pump works on the principle of gravity feed from the tank to the small pump, which consists of a worm operating in a tight sleeve in the timing gear cover. The pump forces the oil to the sight feed on the near side of the tank and through to the engine. THE NEW FRONT SHOCK ABSORBERS. The illustration shows the new design B.S.A. barrel type spring forks with grease gun lubrication. As a shock absorber this new B.S.A. fork is the most efficient ever fitted to a motor cycle.
