MENTAL POWERS LOW NEXT MONTH.
AUCKLAND PROFESSOR’S I NTERESTING OBSERVATIONS. (Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND,' July 23. The teachers’ certificate examina tions to be held next month will occur at the very worst time of the year when the mental powers are at a low ebb. Such was the opinion expressed by Professor A. B. Fitt in a lecture last night when he produced graphs which showed that Autumn and Winter were the best times of the vear for mental concentration and memory w hich were at the most efficient point m early winter, the attention w’andering after July.
