The teachers’ certificate examina tions to be held next month will occur at the very worst time of the year when the mental powers are at a low ebb. Such was the opinion expressed by Professor A. B. Fitt in a lecture last night when he produced graphs which showed that Autumn and Winter were the best times of the vear for mental concentration and memory w hich were at the most efficient point m early winter, the attention w’andering after July.
