Yesterday an interesting game took place at Straven Road, when the Boys’ High School first fifteen tried conclusions with Lincoln College, play was fast, and exciting t hroughout. Lincoln College excelling in fine forward play, whilst their backs threw the hall about, at every opportunity. The Roys’ High School backs also made great, efforts to keep play open, Mortlock being conspicuous for making several fine openings. whilst Inner. Gregg and Soanes were very sound in defence. For Lincoln, Hunter-Weston played an outstanding game at first five-eighths, whilst their full-back was particularly safe. Amongst the forwards, Miles and Stephens for Lincoln and Smith and Foley for Floys’ High School were the most prominent. Play throughout was very evenly contested, Lincoln mainly owing their win by 16 points to 14 to their greater weight in the scrum. For the winners. Miles (2), Hunter-Weston and Ormond scored tries, two oT which were converted by Hunter-Weston. For Boys’ High School. Mortlock scored two tries, one of which was converted by Merritt, who also kicked two penalty goals. Mr W. 71/ Stewart was referee.
