” From time to time during the past two or three years I have kept in close touch with the latest scientific electrical and magnetic methods of prospecting, and as such methods are in their infancy it has not been deemed advisable to take steps to bring the same into operation,” states the Minister of Mines in reply to a suggestion from Mr Sidey that investigation should be made into the latest scientific method* of prospecting, more particularly for gold, bv which it is sought to locate the metal from the surface.
