In the House of Commons, replying to a question regarding the danger of restrictions involving Customs delays under the Merchandise Marks and Imported Goods Bill, which might cause rapid deterioration in soft fruits and an increase in expenses, Sir Burton Chadwick said that the Government, before acting, would await the report of a committee which was being established under the Bill. He did not fear that the danger would arise in. view of the experience of the Customs authorities.
