INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM.

DANCE FOR OFFICERS. There was a gay carnival spirit at the Winter Garden last night, when the British officers of the Indian Army hockey team were entertained at a dance given by the Canterbury Hockey Association. The guests of honour were Captain Cowan, Captain Cox, Captain Alexander and Captain Bellchamber. The committee who made the excellent arrangements were Alessrs P. X. Quartermain, W. Williamson, P. Hill anti J. H. Williamson. Bright decorations and a number of novelty dances helped to intensify the carnival spirit. The supper tables were exquisitely decorated with spring flowers. The music was provided by Bailey's and Marston’s Bands. Among thoss present were:—Mrs M. Bassett, Airs IL C. Watson, Mrs T. biggins, Mrs O. Watson, Mrs W. Williamson, All's Arnold Preston.
