LONDON, June 10. “We have many useful animals in T the Liberal stable, also a thoroughbred of the highest class in Sir John Simon,” said Lord Oxford, speaking at the National Liberal Club. He considered that Sir John Simon’s speeches during the strike period, especially his speech demonstrating the illegality of the. general strike, as one of 1 the main causes of the calling oft' of the strike. They were speeches not only of a great lawyer, but of a statesman endowed with foresight and humanity.
