THRILLING FILMS AT STRAND THEATRE

“ CALL OF COURAGE ” AND “ PORT OF CALL ” DRAW GOOD HOUSES. The new programme at the Strand Theatre is headed by “ The Call of Courage,” starring Art Acord. It is a picture full of thrilling adventure. The second picture is “ Ports of Call,” starring Edmund Lowe, who is ably supported by Hazel Keener and William Conklin. Supporting pictures are Episode 9 of “ The Scarlet Streak,” a comedy, and a news gazette. HARBOUR LIGHT THEATRE. Those who have read “Helen's Babies.” and revelled in the escapades of Toddic and Budge, and also those who have not read John llabberton's famous book will enjoy the screen adaptation of the story, to be screened at the Harbour Light Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday next. Baby Peggy is the star, and the programme also includes the first episode of the new serial “The Riddle Rider,” featuring William Desmond. On Thursday and Friday Paramount’s big production, “The Pony Express,” which comes direct from ari extended season at the Crystal Palace, Christchurch, will be shown. The cast includes Betty Compson, Ricardo Cortez, and Wallace Beery. The reserve plan opens at Hat tons on Monday. On Saturda}-- next The Splendid Road,” starring Anna Q. Nilsson and Lionel Barrymore, will bo screened. At the evening session Mr Robert Allison will sing.
