AMERICAN MONEY USED TO BOLSTER UP FRENCH FRANC.

Peret told the finance committee of the Chamber that the Government already had used part of the credit arranged some time ago with the American banking firm of J. P. Morgan and Company to bolster up the franc and sufficient remained for efficacious action if required. lie added that it would be necessary to stabilise the franc rate slightly above the present rate in order to avoid a rise in wholesale prices.
