The main attraction was the Westport Athletic and Cycling Association’s sports carnival, held in Victoria Square in the presence of a large gathering of the public. The principal events resulted : Sheffield —Doel 1, Kearns 2. Jones 3. 440yds Handicap—M’lntyre 1, Harris 2, Craddock 3. 220vds Puller Championship—Kearns 1, Jones 2. Wood 3. 880yds Handicap—Harris 1, Larsen 2, Craddock 3. 120yds Hurdles—Caldwell 1, Connelly 2, Comerford 3. Wheel Race, two miles- Lindop 1, Wilson 2. I-lulquist 3. One Mile and a Half Dash - Lindop 1. Wilson and Ilulquist (dead heat) 2. Duller Cycle Championship—llulquist 1, Lindop 2. At Denniston a six-a-sidc hockey tournament was held, the ladies’ cup being won by Millerton and the men's by United."
