peeial to the ‘Star.) LITTLE RIVER, May 22. The Banks Peninsula Collie Dog- Club trials were concluded to-day. The weather was very bad up till about midday, when the rain eased off. Class 2—C. W. Denton's Digger 1, W. S. Jones’s Toss 2, A. Help’s Bess 3, T. White’s Lochiel Lill 4. Special prizes were awarded as follows: E. M’Lennan's Moss wins the D.I.C. trophy for the dog showing the best sts'le at yards. J. B. Armstrong’s Queen wins Mr E. Reece’s trophy for the dog making the best head. C. W. Denton wins Mr V. Craw’s special prize for the dog heading under command and bringing back. Class 3.—Mr A. Salt’s Boy 1, O. S. Jones’s Tip 2, R. Innes’s Lloyd 3, J. Chapman and J. R. Rouse 4. Class 3 (district)—T. Turpin's Toil 1, T. Brankin's Pat 2, T. E. Feather's Power Board Rates 3. A. Turpin's Toil wins the New Zealand Refrigerating Co.'s special prise for the dog making the quickest return after completing the course. T.
