DEADLOCK OCCURS AT GLEN AFTON MNES.

COMMISSIONER WILL TRY CONCILIATION.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 28. The dispute at Glen Afton collieries, affecting 300 employees, has reached a deadlock. The miners refused to resume work until the directors went to Glen Afton to discuss the points at issue. The mine manager replied today that under no circumstances would the visit Gien Afton to discuss the matter until work was resumed. The miners’ secretary later rejoined that the men could not resume until the matter was discussed. There the matter stands. Mr P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, left to-night for Glen Afton in connection with the dispute.
