SWAN CAUSES BREAK IN LINE.

BRIGHTON INCIDENT PUZZLED ELECTRICIANS. Between five and six o'clock on Sunday evening the electric light failed in Brighton, and the district fed by the same sub-station. The fuses were found open at the substation, and when they were closed the light went on again. The mystery has been solved by the discovery of the dead body of a huge white swan lying \tnder the 11.000-volt wire at the end of M’Bratney’s Road, near the river. Evidently the swan flew up against the wire and was electrocuted, causing a short circuit. There is a mark on the swan’s body showing where the contact took place.
